Christmas Blog Hop ! ! !

Welcome! I’m so glad you stopped by!

This is the first time I’ve participated in a blog hop and it’s been super great fun!

I won’t bore you with all the stuff you already know……you know why you’re here..…so let’s get to the good stuff!

I decided if I were going to participate in this blog hop, that I’d likely HAVE to make a new Christmas sampler quilt….so that’s the direction I headed…..I managed to get a few 12.5” blocks done:

I’ve been making a ton of these blocks lately….for my NuBees Group and a Scrappy Mug Rug swap on flickr (12.5” and 10” respectively) and I’ve been sewing away on blocks for my Rainbow Starburst quilt – a large 17” version – the tutorial for this block is found HERE on Kat’s site. It’s super fun and easy and I've just changed the size of the squares to get the different size blocks. All the little squares on this Christmas block are 3". I squared up the block once it was complete to 12.5'. You can see some of my other Starburst blocks by scrolling down to earlier posts, if interested.

For this block I used some leftovers from a project I worked on last year. I used Moda Fabric READY SET SNOW by Me & My Sister Designs. It’s fun colors and patterns and just reminds me of snowy Christmas’s as a kid!

The last block I made was this log cabin....currently I'm in the middle of machine quilting a TON of scrappy log cabin blocks made for me by my Quilting Bee group: Beejeebers! So....why not make a Christmas Log Cabin too!

While I had all the Christmas fabric out, I made a couple of Christmas bibs:

I'm including these bibs with the other two I created for Operation Baby Shower, a charity event on flickr.

Once I got going on these blocks, I was sort of getting into the Christmas spirit and decided to create a few mug rugs from the scraps:

And being that Christmas is a time for GIVING – I’m going to do just that! I’ll be doing a drawing on August 5th the final day of the blog hop and I’ll post the winner on Monday, August 6th.

Two ways to get your name in the drawing….

1. Leave me a comment telling me which mug rug you’d like win.

2. Sign up as a follower and mention it in another comment. I’ll be giving away at least one….maybe two mug rugs…..who knows? I may give away all of them!

GOOD LUCK!
